When you call the North Wales Paranormal Group for help, we will discuss your needs and concerns and determine what actions should be taken for your particular case. Some people do not want a full blown scientific investigation to document proof… they just want us to come and cleanse it of negative energy and spirits. They just want their unwanted spirits gone! That is fine too. Others want to see if we can capture documented evidence of the same spirit activity they have seen, felt or heard. In this particular investigation it involved a colleague of ours, Tim, who is also a paranormal Investigator. Tim had asked if we could come along and investigate what he believed was paranormal activity occurring in his mother’s house. Apparently they have been experiencing paranormal activity ever since moving into the house. Tim felt that what or whoever was haunting them was both benevolent and malicious. Not all hauntings are alike, and they may exhibit a variety of phenomena. Some hauntings feature a single phenomenon - such as a particular door slamming shut that occurs repeatedly - while others consist of many different phenomena, ranging from odd noises to full-blown apparitions. Tim said that one night he woke up and realised he was unable to move, barely able to breathe; he had felt an oppressive weight bearing down on his chest... and sensed a female presence in the room, he thought that it might be a succubus.  A succubus was a female spirit that would lay with men to steal their seed: it was given as an explanation for night arousal. However, I thought it more likely to be what we call the

"Old Hag Syndrome. The name of the phenomenon comes from the superstitious belief that a witch - or an old hag - sits or "rides" the chest of their victims, rendering them immobile. Although that explanation isn't taken very seriously nowadays, the perplexing and often very frightening nature of the phenomenon leads many people to believe that there are supernatural forces at work - ghosts or demons. The experience is so frightening because the victims, although paralysed, seem to have full use of their senses. In fact, it is often accompanied by strange smells, the sound of approaching footsteps, apparitions of weird shadows or glowing eyes, and the oppressive weight on the chest, making breathing difficult if not impossible. All of the body's senses are telling the victims that something real and unusual is happening to them. The spell is broken and the victims recover often on the point of losing consciousness. Fully awake and well, they sit up; completely baffled by what just happened to them since now the room is entirely normal.

The house itself was believed not to be the cause of these events as it was fairly new, believed to have been built around 1979, The estate was built on the former playing fields of Wrexham Cricket Club and Wrexham Rugby Club back in the 1970’s. I think that there are people in the house that are sensitive to spirit and are fuelling each other. When they moved to this house they brought their own spiritual luggage with them, and is being harnessed and used to scare them. It’s very easy to be dismissive of supposed paranormal activity particularly when it affects the people involved.

I think that even if they moved out of the house the problem would not be resolved.

The Investigation

The Investigation started upstairs in the master bedroom with Mike calling out for any spirit present in the house to step forward and to make themselves known by knocking or tapping on a wall, talking into a voice recorder or to affect our K2 meters. He asked for any spirit in the room to affect Jimmy anyway they could, later in the evening Jim did complain of pains in his side, a burning sensation on his face and later again when in the lounge he thought his leg was being stroked or scratched by unseen hands, but he couldn’t see any visible signs to back up his claims. During the investigation upstairs noises such as knocks and taps could be continually heard coming from the landing and the other bedrooms. Mike began to pick up on a woman who he described as being disturbed and slightly aggressive. It appeared that this spirit had attached itself to the lady of the house when she was a young girl and no matter where she lived this spirit would have followed her. The name he gleaned from this spirit was Ann Williams who had apparently died from a blood disorder like Leukemia; she was only 10 years of age. Ann had lived in the Rhosddu area of Wrexham, her fathers name was Terry Williams and she had two brothers Philip and Mark. Her father was the reason she hadn’t passed over, he had been a violent man who often took his anger out on Ann’s mother. Her father had died in an accident shortly before Ann’s death in 1958 and she had no intension of linking up with him again. Ann was now showing herself as a much older lady, probably keeping a comparable age to the lady of the house. Obviously Ann and our client must have known each other when they where young girls for Ann to have bonded with her. Unfortunately over the years Ann had become more and more disillusioned with her existence and it manifested itself in aggression towards anyone staying in the house, hence the increase in paranormal activity and her increasing sexual advances towards Tim.

The term or label "Succubus" is a blanket statement for any kind of spirit who involves sex. If anyone reports intimate contact with a spiritual being, it is automatically deemed an evil Incubus or Succubus no matter of its real intention or interest.
Spirits have emotions like we do. Consider a loving spiritual being with good intention only to be rejected as "An evil Succubus". It's no wonder this type of being is often more illusive.
All spiritual beings have as many personalities as we humans. Some are kind and considerate. Others are not so much and everything in-between. Some spiritual beings indeed look for a person to involve with a loving spousal-type relationship. Most of the time their advancements are rejected only because of the persons fear of the unknown and the prevalence of false folklore and religious dogma.

Some spirits remain at or near the site of their death, especially if it was sudden and unexpected.  They remain confused and don't know or accept that they have died.  These spirits remain in the area and try to make contact with anyone that passes by that is sensitive to spirits.  This type of spirit can be found almost anywhere a death has occurred. Sometimes a spirit realises that it is dead and that life continues beyond that. They do not go to the light for reasons such as the fear that their existence will end, fear of the unknown, fear of going to hell or being judged for past deeds. These spirits are bound here because of their own fears. Other spirits stay behind to take care of unfinished business. It may be to make sure their finances and their loved ones are fine or to pass along one final message.  Often these earthbound spirits do not remain here for long, once they can complete their goal, they normally pass over.  If the deed that they are attempting to finish is complicated they will often contact the living to assist them.  In many cases the living are unsure of what the spirit wants and it adds to the length of the time the spirit spends here. Almost anything that a spirit feels compelled to do before it goes to the light can make it remain here until it feels comfortable with how they have left things. Guilt can also be a reason for a spirit being stuck here. They may feel like they have left the family or loved ones too soon and uncared for. This is also the main reason why suicide victims and other spirits whose death was caused by their actions (alcoholics, drug overdose, etc) remain behind.  They feel guilty over taking their life or contributing to their death.

This Ouija Board was very interesting as the planchette moved almost from the moment we started asking questions. The movements were very strong and full of purpose. Lorraine asked for Ann to answer some questions and apart from giving her date of birth, June 15^th 1947 and that she was buried in Wrexham cemetery nothing more was forthcoming. Most of the messages came from the families and loved ones of those sitting around the table and will remain private.

Sending the grounded spirit over to the light

You just want the entity to come closer, and listen to you, every spirit entity is different and will react in different ways just as we do this side of life. Based on the investigation, we can find the place where the spirit likes to spend its time, or you can move around the house and look for the spirit. The medium will visualise a white bright light appearing in the room, and the spirit moving towards it. He tells the spirit that the light is a place where it should go, and where it will find peace. He continues visualising the light for few minutes until he knows that the spirit is gone. If he can’t feel anything he tries to ask the ancestors of the spirit to come and take the soul with them. Or he can also ask his spirit guide to provide guidance to the soul in order to complete their passing to the afterlife. You may ask. If the person was so bad during earthly life that the spirit was trapped here, should we send the spirit away? Isn’t the fact of being trapped on Earth some kind of hell for the soul? Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. But some spirits can be trapped because they don’t know they’re dead. Or like I've already said they have some unfinished business left. We do not know – what I know is that being aware of the existence of spirits in our world, in some way it makes energy workers and psychics/mediums responsible for helping these entities. Because no one else will help them – and this should be the most important thing we should all keep in mind. Beside, every lost or confused soul has the right to move on.

Mike persuaded Ann to complete her passing telling her that she couldn’t continue affecting and causing the family sleepless nights. Everyone gathered together and Ann was sent over to the light to join up with family and friends and hopefully she is now at peace and more importantly she is happy at last.
